All Season
Whistler Resort is a world class four season resort comprised of an 18 hole golf course, alpine and Nordic ski facilities and residential neighbourhoods. From the initial stages of village development. John Sproule provided architectural and planning expertise and served on the design panel as the Architecture Institute's appointed representative and Chairman. All major projects in Whistler were reviewed in detail for approval by this committee. Our office has also completed several buildings in Whistler, including residential, hotel, commercial, restaurant, retail and recreation facilities.
Mountain
Lake Placid Lodge, Whistler, BC (Ski Lodge) is a lodge style resort hotel of 120 suites, located at the creekside base of of Whistler Mountain, British Columbia, The units are mix of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom accomodations with resort kitchen, fireplace, deck and underground parking.
Alpine Greens is a 26 unit stacked townhome complex situated on a gold course with access from the ski hill at Sun Peaks Resort near Kamploops, BC. Units are a mixture of one, two and three bedrooms. Concept is based on ‘high country ranch’ style.
Snow Creek Lodge is a 65 unit lodge of studios, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units located by the ski runs of Fernie Alpine Resort in the Rocky Mountains of BC. Amenities include a restaurant, health club, outdoor pool and conference facilities.
Urban
Aspen Woods Town Centre, Calgary, Alberta is a 160 acre neighbourhood with 580 singl family homes, nestled on a view ridge looking south westerly towards the Rocky Mountain foothills. The town site is mixe use commercial and residential development around a a market square plaza and water feature. Massing works with hillside environment to maximize views. LakeStone, Lake Country, BC
The real challenge with this project was to create something that not only fit in with this extraordinary piece of land, but actually measured up to its enormous potential.
Thoughtful design and careful planning combine to create a unique and natural experience. In the same way that the experience of LakeStone is being realized as an integral vision, the aesthetic of LakeStone also maintains visual flow between the different focal points of the lake, village, the vineyards, the golf course and the homes themselves.
